Murray Smith for CU Regent
Only Candidate Who Went To CU
Only Candidate Who Graduated In This Century
I'm running to make CU work better for Coloradans by centering student success, treating CU as a premier public university, and partnering with the faculty, staff, and unions who deliver that mission.
My Priorities
Focusing on what matters most for the University of Colorado.
Student Success
Set measurable targets for 4-year graduation, help students navigate their degrees, and reduce student debt load.
Partner with Workers
Listen to faculty, staff, and unions who see the barriers to student success every day. Bargain in good faith and design policies with the people who deliver them.
Public Mission First
Prioritize academics and affordability over commercial ventures like conference centers and hotels that don't directly serve CU's public purpose.

Key issues I will address as Regent.
Why I'm Running
As a proud 21st century alumnus, I bring a deep understanding of the modern student experience to the careful decision-making processes that regents must undertake.
I was born and raised in Boulder, graduated as a member of the CU Class of 2015, and have never been a career politician. I have lived campus experience and the independence to challenge the status quo.
I want all Coloradans to benefit from the same opportunities I was afforded at CU.
